Use the dashboard flow titled Create New Application to add an Application under your Organisation

The wizard subtitle is: follow the steps to set up your application and environment.

Conceptual background: Applications under Core Concepts in the sidebar and Environments under Core Concepts in the sidebar.

Prerequisites

  • You can sign in at app.dflow.sh (or your self-hosted URL).
  • At least one Worker Node (or managed compute path your plan uses) available before the Compute step. See Quick start for dFlow Cloud under Getting Started in the sidebar or Add a self-hosted server under Worker Nodes and Compute in the sidebar.

1. Start the wizard

  1. From your organisation dashboard, open the entry point for creating an Application (for example Create Application or Create New Application).
  2. If you are moving from a legacy Project, you may see Move project to applications with a shorter ReviewMigrate flow; follow on-screen copy. See Legacy Projects vs Applications under Core Concepts in the sidebar.

2. Step: Application

The first step is labeled Application in the progress bar. The card title is Application Details.

  1. Enter Application Name (in-product validation applies; names are limited in length and must be unique within your organisation, case-insensitive).
  2. Optionally enter Description.
  3. Continue to the next step. The Application is created as draft until the flow completes.

3. Step: Environment

The second step is Environment.

  1. Choose a tier or custom name (for example production, staging, development, or a custom name; follow the options shown).
  2. For the first Environment in the Application, the wizard can mark it as the default; that aligns with Default environment.

4. Step: Compute

The third step is Compute.

  1. Select the Worker Node or managed instance that should run this Environment’s workloads.
  2. Resolve any connection or eligibility messages shown in the UI before continuing.

5. Step: Services

The fourth step is Services. Complete activation so the Application leaves draft and becomes active (see Application lifecycle). Follow prompts to add or migrate services as your path requires.

Draft continuation

If you leave mid-flow, the Application list shows Continue setup for draft Applications. You can also remove a draft with Delete draft from the wizard or delete controls on the card. See Archive / delete / manage applications.

After creation

  • Open the Application overview for Application Insights, environment cards, and actions such as Deploy from template.
  • Change Application Name or Description under the Application Settings tab when needed. See Application settings.

Next steps

If something fails

  • Getting started issues under Troubleshooting in the sidebar (wizard, drafts, dashboard)
  • Compute and worker node issues under Troubleshooting in the sidebar (compute step)
